Launch of the international SCoLINE project

Launch of the international SCoLINE project

We are pleased to announce that KTKM Sp. z o.o., together with its partners, has officially launched the international project #SCoLINE (Research Fund for Coal and Steel, Big Tickets for Coal. Project No. 101254476):

“Innovative composite slings system for PV and power line based on composite poles for live power line construction on post-mining areas to transform them into green energy production area.”

The #SCoLINE project aims to develop innovative composite poles for medium-voltage power lines, together with a dedicated foundation system for post-mining areas. A key expected benefit of this solution is a significant reduction of the carbon footprint across the pole life cycle. An important advantage of the proposed technology will also be the possibility of constructing power lines without disconnecting the electricity supply.

The project’s second major objective is to develop and demonstrate a composite support structure for photovoltaic installations, enabling renewable energy systems to be deployed on the slopes of post-mining waste dumps.

#SCoLINE directly addresses the growing need to transform post-mining areas into spaces for green energy generation, while unlocking their potential for renewable energy deployment and innovative grid infrastructure.

Project duration: March 2026 – February 2030

Total project budget: EUR 16,277,087.41

Project Coordinator: KTKM Sp. z o.o.

Consortium members:

  • KTKM Sp. z o.o., Poland
